Entry-Level Warehouse Jobs at PWADC
PWADC offers full-time entry-level warehouse positions supporting grocery distribution operations across the Southeastern U.S. These roles are hands-on, performance-driven, and play a critical role in supplying hundreds of retail stores.
Entry-level team members begin as Order Selectors, gaining experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment with opportunities to advance into other warehouse roles as seniority and experience increase.
Full-Time Order Selector
As a full-time Order Selector, you’ll work second shift, typically starting at 3:00pm and ending at 11:30pm or later if necessary.
Schedules run Sunday night through Friday night, with one scheduled day off during the week and no Saturday night shift.
What the Role Involves
Order Selectors operate electric pallet jacks and manually pull cases of product from warehouse shelves, stacking pallets for delivery to outbound docks.
This position requires repeated lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds and working in hot or cold warehouse environments, depending on assignment.
Pay & Advancement
Starting pay is $22.94 per hour, with time-and-a-half overtime opportunities often available.
As seniority and experience grow, team members have opportunities to move into additional warehouse roles and build long-term careers within PWADC’s operations
CDL Truck Driver Positions at PWADC
PWADC offers full-time CDL driver positions supporting grocery distribution operations across the Southeastern U.S. CDL drivers play a critical role in delivering product from our Bessemer, Alabama distribution center to hundreds of retail stores throughout Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Florida, and Georgia.
Drivers operate well-maintained equipment, work alongside experienced warehouse and store teams, and have opportunities to advance into more structured, bid-based routes as seniority increases.
CDL Truck Driver
PWADC CDL drivers operate full day cab semi-trucks, loading product in Bessemer, Alabama and delivering to retail stores across the Southeast. Drivers make multiple store deliveries per route and may also handle backhauls as part of daily operations.
While loading is handled at the warehouse, drivers assist as needed with unloading at store locations.
What the Role Involves
- Operating day cab Volvo tractors, no more than three years old
- Delivering product to multiple retail locations per route
- Assisting with unloading at stores as needed
- Completing occasional backhauls
- Following all safety, DOT, and operational guidelines
Some routes may include overnight layovers, for which PWADC provides hotel accommodations and a meal allowance.
Pay & Advancement
Starting pay for CDL drivers is $24.00 per hour.
New drivers begin on a 100% on-call schedule, meaning availability is required for any of the six delivery days each week. (PWADC does not deliver on Sundays.)
As drivers gain seniority, they may advance into Mileage Driver positions, which include:
- Route bidding opportunities
- More defined and consistent schedules
- Pay based on mileage rather than hourly rates
